FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Your Questions Answered
WHAT IS COACHING?
Coaching is a process that helps clients get from where they are now to where they want to be, either in their personal or professional life. It starts with a free 15 minute Discovery Call, and then an initial Intake Session before the coaching sessions begin. Coaching sessions involve structured conversations that help to unlock a client's potential and address any blocks or beliefs that limit them. Goals will be set and and an action plan will be created each session, and there will be opportunities to feed back on whether goals are being achieved. Coaching does not involve counselling or advice giving, but it does involve tailoring a set of carefully chosen questions and exercises to the client's specific needs.
I AM EXPERIENCING DEPRESSION/ANXIETY - IS COACHING RIGHT FOR ME?
Coaching is not a form of counselling and clients are not asked to delve into their past experiences, but coaching can work alongside other forms of intervention. During our Discovery Call and Intake Session, we can establish whether coaching is the right form of intervention for you at this time.
I WANT TO STOP DRINKING - HOW DO I KNOW IF COACHING IS THE RIGHT APPROACH FOR ME?
This is an excellent question. I would always recommend that my clients talk to their GP before embarking on their journey to sobriety. Please also take a look at my questionnaire here to establish which path might be suitable for your specific needs.
WHAT IF I DECIDE THAT COACHING IS NOT RIGHT FOR ME?
Either the client or the coach can end the coaching relationship at any time without needing to give a reason. Please do discuss any concerns with me about your coaching journey and we can determine together what the best path is for you going forward.
WOULD A COACH TELL ANYONE ELSE WHAT I SAY DURING A SESSION?
Everything that you speak about during a session is confidential, unless any of the information disclosed goes against the law or there is an indication that someone is at risk of harm.
WILL YOU CONTACT ME IN BETWEEN SESSIONS?
As a coach, I love to hear about my client's achievements via email, social media, or the Trello app between sessions. I do not "check up" on my clients, and any actual coaching only takes place during our agreed times. I am confident that our coaching conversations will provide you with enough motivation and drive to carry out your action plans between each session!
WHAT COACHING QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU HAVE?
I gained a Distinction in my level 5 Diploma in Personal and Performance Coaching from the Coaching Academy. This course is affiliated with the ICF - the International Coaching Federation.
In addition to my coaching training, I have qualified as an Addictive Behaviours Specialist on an accredited training programme affiliated with the Coaching Academy run by the coaches from Love Sober, a Community Interest Company set up for women who are questioning their drinking.
I am also DISC accredited, which means I have been trained to use a highly effective behavioural model and method of psychometric testing, which helps to build communications and collaborative working.
In addition to coaching, I am a qualified EFT Practitioner, having completed Level 1 and Level 2 training with an Accredited EFT Master Trainer with the EFT and Mindfulness Centre.
I am also a qualified Zen of Ten Meditation Teacher, meaning I have undertaken extensive training to deliver meditations and mindfulness training.
WHERE WILL OUR SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?
I carry out all of my sessions online, meaning we can connect no matter where you live!
